Prince William and Kate's Wedding Gift a Fitting Tribute

Prince William and Kate's Wedding Gift a Fitting Tribute

$25,000 donation in line with royals' request
The province's wedding gift to Prince William and Kate Middleton is a $25,000 donation to seven Alberta youth shelters, including Edmonton's Youth Emergency Shelter Society.

"We think it's awesome. We are delighted to be chosen," said Deb Cautley, the executive director of YESS. YESS will receive a $7,500 donation as part of the wedding gift to the royal couple.[tungsten rings]

Other recipients of the donations include Fort McMurray's Stepping Stones Youth Shelter and the Grande Prairie Youth Emergency Shelter Society.[wholesale tungsten carbide jewelry]

"It's a gift I know the royal couple will support," Premier Ed Stelmach said. "It's a gift that is going to go on for many years."

The contribution will be made in the royal couple's name.

The couple, who will marry April 29 at Westminster Abbey, have said they would prefer well-wishers make a donation to a charity instead of sending gifts.
Prince William has advocated for homeless youth in the United Kingdom, Cautley said, adding the prince spent a night sleeping outside on a cardboard bed to raise awareness about disadvantaged youth.[tungsten rings shell inlay]

"It really, really fits in with what we do," she said. The money will go toward the shelter's social programs, including those that provide support for pregnant teens.

Robert Finch, dominion chairman of the Monarchist League of Canada, said Alberta's gift "fits very nicely" into the couple's request. The Government of Canada will not reveal its gift until the royal wedding day.[tungsten carbide ring all sizes]

Following their wedding, the couple is expected to visit Alberta. The schedule for their tour has not yet been set.

Patriotic citizens buying bunting and other party equipment, as well as less fervent consumers buying a few extra bottles of beer to enjoy while watching the event on television, will add an extra £480 million to the tills of supermarkets and shops, the study suggested.
