Not only are they expected to find just the right tunsten rings to represent their undying devotion to one another, they also have to find ones that they both actually like and want to wear until death do they part.

Fortunately, that task has become a lot easier, as couples now have the freedom to choose pretty much whatever they want. These days, says Elaine Ng of Carati, the only rule when it comes to tungsten&ceramic wedding rings is that "there are no rules."

"Very seldom do we have matching bands any more, and sometimes they don't even match with the tungsten betrothal ring. Some people are also choosing to do something totally different on the other hand," says Ng, proving her point with her own unique set, which includes a tungsten carbide wedding band combined with two other ceramic rings on one hand and an tungsten engagement ring that she wears on the other hand.

Marcia Osborne of Calgary Jewellery agrees.

While some couples may still look for similar styles or metals, she has seen plenty of others who are quite content to have totally different rings.

What that means is endless options for you and your beloved, ranging from the traditional gold bands to far more elaborate designs.

Tungsten&ceramic ring appears to be all the rage  ring these days, often mixed together with yellow or rose crystals.

Women can even choose to incorporate the more elaborate elements of an wedding commitment symbol rings into their wedding ring and skip the whole two-ring process altogether.

"One is the look. Two is the feel -it's lighter," he says. "(And it's a bit cheaper) so we can get away with a doing a bit more substantial ring and a different style of ring."

Since every couple is different, all that really matters is that both the bride and groom walk away happy with their ring selection.

"It's more individual choice,"  "It's what do you like and what would you wear -as opposed to having to wear it."
